Alza La Bandera, Latinos
I am a person who truly enjoys reading about different cultures from different countries plus their histories because the concept of time and change always fascinates me. But if you know me, you would know that out of this countries and cultures, I always eyed England as a place where I could easily migrate in if I had a chance. I mean why wouldn't I?
I love their architecture,
their history (literally my research paper),
their language (I'm so sorry ma'am Chinkie),
their products (I love Tesco, there's a lot of Tesco products in my fridge)
and they have royalties. I mean, who does not want to breath the same air as the queen, right?
Most of all, they have Harry Potter! (I'm Sytherin from the Most Ancient and Noble House of Black!!)
But even though how much I love the British, there is something about the Latin culture that gives me the homey vibe. I don't know if it's because we were colonized by the Spanish for like 333 years and Philippines (as what some say) is basically the Latinos of Asia or the fact that I idolized a lot of Latin descent celebrities but every time I watch a Latino based shows and read Latin history, it's like it fills a hole in my soul because they pour so much passion in their words, to their music and their actions which I really admire.
Deep, I know but it's true. Their culture is just so beautiful. I can see and feel it in their art. You can see it especially but not limited to the works of Lin Manuel Miranda who is of Puerto Rican descent. His latest work, "Encanto" which is under Disney gave us a glimpse of the Latino art and culture in Columbia. In which you can feel his dedication to represent Latin culture by making characters that everyone can relate with.
If you can see, in this shows and movies, they planted little details that show them who they are. Details that they own like a signature that they imprinted so the society would know it is from them.
